- חִיתּוּןm. (חָתַן) marriage; wedding ceremony, only in pl. חִיתּוּנִים, חִיתּוּנִין. Num. R. s. 12 (ref. to Cant. 3:11) ח׳ היווכ׳ the law-giving on Sinai was a wedding (between God and Israel), as we read (Ex. 19:10) , v. קִידּוּשִׁין; Pesik. Vayhi, p. 5a>; Cant. R. to l. c. כחתנים (corr. acc.).
